Have you ever told your kids to finish their homework before playing? 🖐
I had the pleasure of meeting Dr Melinda Sothern, an expert in physical activity, at a recent conference. According to Dr Sothern, that’s actually the wrong way to approach it. When children get home after school, their brains are tired, but not their bodies. They’ve had a long day in a sedentary environment, and need to be active. 💪🏻
Instead of a snack, try handing your child a glass of water 💧 and send them outside to play (bike, play games, skate, climb trees, etc). 🚲 🤸🏼♀️ 🌳 Indoors, be creative – children can play basketball/volleyball/soccer with foam balls, hula hoop, dance, etc. When they do their homework, they will be able to concentrate better! 🧠 📚 Play Now, Homework later! Finally a rule your children will want to follow! 😉
Play Now! Homework Later!
