Functional nutrition really is an empowering field. It is a personalized approach which centers around nutrigenomics, how nutrition interacts with your genes. The focus is on optimizing health based on individual genetics, lab values, lifestyle, and more. We are all given a set of genes, but it is largely up to you—through diet and lifestyle—to decide which ones to turn on.
When I began working in this field, I quickly became the go-to for friends, family and acquaintances on how to get at the root cause health issues and to optimize health. Combining my background in communications with my experience in functional nutrition, I created my blog to translate nutrition science into information that anyone can use, as well as to inspire ways to easily cultivate positive associations with food, nutrition, and healthy lifestyle habits.
